Major Greens Renovation Underway
For the past five years, we have worked hard to improve the health and playability of our greens. Despite repeated aerification, punching, overseeding, and other treatments, the existing greens have continued to struggle due to limited airflow, insufficient sunlight, and irrigation challenges.
After consulting with outside turf professionals and exploring possible solutions, we have determined that continuing the same approach will not produce the lasting results our golfers deserve. To provide our customers with a course they can be proud to call home, we have made the decision to completely remove the existing greens on the Lake Course and replace them with premium, greens-grade bentgrass sod. Courses will remain open. The Lake Course will have temporary greens.
This is a major renovation requiring extensive preparation, significant manpower, and a large financial investment. Work will also include removing select trees and clearing brush to improve sunlight and airflow around the greens. These changes are essential to helping the new bentgrass establish and thrive over the long term.
We will continue improving the Par 3 Course throughout the fall and winter as we transition those greens to bentgrass. Although some newly planted areas may appear dormant or bare,
growth is taking place slowly beneath the surface on those greens. Establishing healthy turf takes time, and conditions will improve as the renovation progresses.
How Golfers Can Help
The success of this renovation also depends on everyone respecting the work in progress. Please:
● Keep golf carts off all greens and restricted areas.
● Do not walk on newly planted, sodded, or marked areas.
● Do not take practice swings or divots from areas under renovation.
● Follow all posted signs and staff directions.
We understand that current conditions may be frustrating, and we sincerely appreciate your patience. We are not ignoring the problem or relying on temporary fixes. We are making a
substantial, long-term investment in the future of the course.
Our goal is clear: playable greens and a golf facility our members, guests, and community can be proud of. We are committed to doing the work properly, but we need your cooperation while
these improvements take shape.
